About Us
Ahimsa, the centre, is a community sanctuary offering courses and sessions focusing on increased self-awareness. Using the principles of Polarity, Yoga and Ayurveda, all of our services encourage self-knowledge as a way to create health and wellness, holistically.
Yoga:
Hatha yoga in the style inspired by Vanda Scaravelli, Esther Myers and Allie Chisholm-Smith. Rest into the ground, allow your breath to move your body and then free your spine. At Ahimsa, the emotional aspects of releasing fear and tension in the body are gently encouraged.
Yoga Massage:
A technique where you are guided through a series of Yoga postures while the practitioner massages along the body's energy lines and pressure points. Together these actions results in a full-body session that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system & balances the body energetically.
Teacher Training
This program focuses on the evolution of the individual, from a student to a teacher. It is an intense program, spanning 18 months and exceeding 500 hours. You will develop your own unique style of teaching through an integration of the training and your previous experience and interests. Graduates of the teacher training program are consistently increasing the geographic range of our classes and enriching this style of Yoga.
