Growing up I was my dad’s side kick for everything car. From Mosport Speedway to hanging in the garage, I was his shadow. As I got older and our family grew, cars gave way to snowmobiles and sailing. When dad passed away I inherited everything car he had collected over the years. Posters, programs, event ticket stubs, repair and owner’s manuals as well as a vast collection of 1950’s, 1960’s car and racing magazine’s. I have spent many hours reminiscing while leafing through these. The magazine’s were as loved as my dad. Many are worn and are tattered. Between the covers is an enormous amount of history from around the world.
I want to share the memories and history of times gone by with all those who embraced, and still do, the passion of cars and racing. You will find early advertising for your favourite makes and model, products that have stood the test of time and some that haven’t. Articles on race car driver’s and their product endorsements.
These are the actual pages of magazines, a real piece of the past, mounted and ready to display A unique gift for someone, maybe even yourself. I am sure they will start many conversations and lead to storytelling.
