When a pet needs surgery, it can an emotional and even scary time, and it's natural for certain concerns to arise. At Orillia Pet Hospital, we understand these concerns, so we want to help you to feel confident that your pet will be in good hands while in our care. Our highly skilled veterinary surgeons are experienced and proficient in performing wide range of routine and advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. These include spays and neuters, fracture and cruciate repair, and orthopedic surgery.
In addition, our surgical care is individualized to ensure the best possible outcome for your pet. For the safety of our patients, we perform all surgeries using the safest possible anaesthetic, and we monitor them throughout the entire procedure. We strive to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible for you and for your four-legged friend.
What to Expect During Your Pet's Surgery
At Orillia Pet Hospital, our focus is always on the safety and comfort of our patients, before, during, and after surgery. That's why we tailor our anaesthetic to meet your pet's unique needs, based on their current health status, age, medical history, and the surgical procedure being performed. We also perform a pre-surgical wellness exam that includes pre-anaesthetic blood work to make sure there aren't any underlying health issues that need to be addressed before surgery.
Your pet will be assigned a registered veterinary technician with extra training in anesthesia and pain management. This RVT will monitor your pet's vitals and stay with them throughout the entire process, including recovery. When the surgery is complete, we'll work with you to develop and implement a customized pain management plan to help your companion recover comfortably.
From the pre-surgical consultation to the moment when we return your pet to your loving arms, we'll be with you every step of the way to ensure a safe procedure and speedy recovery. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions about our Orillia pet surgery services or if you'd like to schedule an appointment.
