About Us
Born in South Africa, Julie learned to create a culinary foundation from a young age when she watched her grandmother and mother in the kitchen everyday. Being able to be the food taster, she knew this would become a meaningful family tradition and culture in her adult life. This notion instilled a deep passion for Julie to follow suite and share her food creations with the world.
In 2008, Julie lived in Israel for 8 months on a kibbutz, where her first opportunity to work in a commercial kitchen, as a line cook was awarded. This is where Julie grew the most. Through this experience she had the opportunity to learn not only the Israeli language, but to shadow the Chefs, and familiarize herself with the many Mediterranean dishes.
In 2019, Julie furthered her education and graduated with honours at a Private Chef school in Ontario, Canada. Julie has been trained by qualified Red Seal Chefs, who have watched her grow into the quality chef she is today.
Julie started her Kimchi Journey just over a year ago. Making it for the first time in the kitchen with her Korean friend, Julie realized that the ‘Kimchi-making process’ is a fulfilling and humbling one. Little did we know that her Kimchi would lead the Kimchi market in Muskoka. The Muskoka Chef’s Kimchi can be shipped anywhere in Ontario. Depending on where you live, minimum amount to purchase may apply.
The Muskoka Chef provides only the highest Quality Catered Dinner meals, the Freshest Desserts around, and also offers Traditional Kimchi. All menu items are centred around a shareable family sized concept and can be delivered directly to your front door or dockside.

*Due to COVID-19, Food orders are to be placed minimum one week in advance to be delivered Friday through Sunday from 12:30PM-4:30PM (Including long weekends/Holiday Mondays).
