WEED MANAGEMENT Information

Now that the old weed killers have been taken out of our tool box, weed control is not as easy as it was in the past. Weed management is a continuous program that requires a minimum of 2 applications each year. Our specially mixed 100% natural product contains liquid corn and chelated iron. Iron occurs naturally in the soil. In fact, plants do require iron in small amounts. However, it has been found that grasses are more tolerant to iron than many broadleaf weeds. These weeds are damaged by a higher amount of iron that does not injure the grass plants. Susceptible plants include dandelion, plantain, chickweed and many others. Fiesta starts to work almost immediately. Weeds turn black, and the leaves shrivel and die within days. Children and pets may use the lawn as soon as the treatment has dried. Weeds thrive in full sun and invade thin, stressed lawns that need to be fertilized. The best way to prevent an invasion of weeds is to keep your lawn healthy and dense. A healthy, thick lawn will out-compete most weeds.

Although this is not the same as the old product used in the past, is the best available at this time. It works well on some weeds. However, some will take more than one application. When used in conjunction with a comprehensive lawn program our product will reduce your weeds.
