ORGANIZING YOUR STORAGE UNIT! Storing your items inside a storage locker takes some thought and planning to maximize space and to prevent damage to your belongings. Here are some tips and tricks to organizing your unit efficiently. 1) Put as much as possible into boxes to prevent dust 2) Use no more than 2 sizes of boxes to make stacking easier (all of our lockers are 9 fit high and utilitzing the height will increase storage space) 3) Fill up the entire box to avoid any from collapsing while stacked. Put a few heavy items on the bottom and fill with lighter items 4) Make a list of the contents of each box and tape it to the outside 5) Arrange boxes so you can see your lists 6) Pack books flat, not on their spines 7) Leave an aisle to make accessing your items easier 8) Pack the items you will need to access the most last (close to door) 9) To save space you can dismantel furniture (take legs of the table) 10) Create more space by using hollow area's of big furniture to store smaller items and boxes 11) Never store anything wet 12) Store fridges and freezers with the door slightly open 13) When storing tools or equipment make sure all fuel has been drained completely. Rub oil on your tools to prevent rust 14) Wrap mirrors and all breakable items in bubble wrap Packing and storing your belongings properly will help prevent any damage and ensure that your items will last for years to come. Being organized will make your move run smoother and can take some stress off what could be a very stressful event.
